How does the seatbelt anchoring work?
The Co-Pilot has two adjustable straps that loop over your car's headrest posts, securing the bag firmly to the seat. A second internal safety clip attaches to your dog's harness (not collar), giving them two independent points of security. The system works with virtually all standard car seats.
What size should I choose?
The M (50×50×30cm) suits dogs up to approximately 8kg — think Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, miniature Dachshunds, and Maltese. The L (70×60×33cm) is ideal for dogs up to around 15kg — French Bulldogs, Pugs, Cavaliers, and small Cocker Spaniels. When in doubt, go larger — a little extra room is always preferable.
How do I clean it?
The Co-Pilot is designed for real life with dogs. The moisture-proof, stain-resistant outer fabric wipes clean with a damp cloth in seconds. For a deeper clean, wipe down with a mild soap solution and air dry — the fabric dries quickly and holds its shape and colour beautifully.
Can I use it as a carrier outside the car?
Absolutely. The Co-Pilot is a genuine 2-in-1 — the reinforced carry handles let you carry it comfortably in one hand. It's perfect for vets, cafés, markets, and anywhere you'd rather carry your dog than walk them. It won't sag or stretch even with the largest dogs in the size range.
Is my dog likely to settle in it quickly?
Most dogs settle within minutes — the deep cushioned walls create a nest-like space that feels secure and enclosed, which naturally calms anxious dogs. For hesitant dogs, we recommend placing a worn item of clothing or a favourite toy inside for the first few trips. The breathable PP cotton fill regulates temperature, which also helps anxious dogs relax faster.
