Will it slide on my hardwood or tile floors?
No. The base of every CloudPaws Comfort Stairs unit is lined with a thick non-slip rubber grip that firmly adheres to hard surfaces. Whether you have polished floorboards, ceramic tiles, or laminate — these stairs don't move. Many customers also use them on carpet without any issues.
What size should I choose for my dog?
A good rule of thumb: match the top of the stairs to the height of the surface you're targeting. The 2 Step (31 cm / 12.2") suits standard couches and small dogs under 10 kg (22 lb). The 3 Step (35 cm / 13.7") is ideal for most medium dogs and standard bed heights. The 4 Step (45 cm / 17.7") suits taller beds and larger breeds. If you're unsure, go one size up — it's better to have gentler steps than ones that are too steep.
Can I wash the cover?
Yes — and it's beautifully simple. Just unzip the soft cover from the memory foam core and place it in your washing machine on a gentle cold cycle. Tumble dry low or air dry flat. The foam core itself spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. We recommend washing the cover every 2–4 weeks for freshness.
Is it safe for a dog who has never used stairs before?
Absolutely. The 17° curved incline was specifically designed to feel natural and approachable — not steep or intimidating. Most dogs take to it instinctively. For more hesitant dogs, we recommend placing a small treat on each step for the first few days. The non-slip surface gives them immediate confidence with their footing.
What weight does it support?
CloudPaws Comfort Stairs are engineered to support up to 90kg — far exceeding the weight of any breed. The internal frame is built from high-density structural foam reinforced with a rigid internal chassis, ensuring complete stability even for large, boisterous dogs.
Does it work well on carpet?
Yes — the non-slip base grips carpet effectively, and the soft outer cover blends beautifully with most carpet textures and colours. Many of our customers use their Comfort Stairs primarily on carpeted floors beside the bed and find they stay perfectly in place all night.
